$18 - 2 burgers + fried pickles
New but NOT improved! Such a bummer after the wait, but not totally unexpected. So the Penguin finally reopened after the chef/owner conflict and it's terrible! Rumor has it the chef "owned" the recipes so the menu is revamped but it's still mainly burgers and hot dogs. The fried pickles, a penguin staple, were too greasy and clearly had been left out a while. Then my blackbean burger, another penguin fave of mine, was awful! I mean, awful! I think they mushed a bunch of black beans together and that's about it. There was no flavor to it; it was pretty bad. My friend ordered the BLT burger and they FORGOT the burger! Seriously! They fixed it pronto but it's not like they were slammed. We got there at 7:30 on a Thursday and there were plenty of seats available. Sorry Penguin, I'm waiting on the Diamond to open for some good eats.
